After a quick goal at the 2' mark by Sumter United's Ryan Perez (#10), the majority of the first half was a defensive battle until the 27' mark, when an own goal was recorded on Sumter after Phillip Jackson's corner kick. Clay Mahlie followed up a minute later, when Philip kicked a through ball to him and Clay placed it in the back of the net for a 2-1 SSC halftime lead. Sumter came back with two quick goals after the break -  Vincent Watkins (#12) and Ryan Perez (#10) both scoring in the 31st minute.
